Getting Around and Parking

Those driving to The Pass will find three places to park, including a garage and outdoor lots. Each charge a fee, so bring cash for easy payment. Those who prefer to shuttle can ride with Free Beach Ride, a free local door-to-door shuttle service on the beach. Just remember to bring cash and tip the driver.

Family Fun and Activities

Once settled, head to the village and boardwalk for a day of fun. Start with a boating excursion with Dolphin Quest or Hubbard’s Marina. Dolphin Quest takes groups out on a 40-foot catamaran where they watch dolphins swim, jump and play.

Hubbard’s Marina hosts party boat fishing trips that last five to 63 hours. That’s a lot of fishing! For over 70 years, this fishing charter has delighted guests and provided safe outdoor excursions. Not an angler? No problem. Hubbard’s also offers dolphin nature cruises, sunset cruises, shelling trips, snorkeling, and rents kayaks and canoes.

For a themed adventure, try to The Pirate Ship. This cruise provides two hours of pirate fun for the family with songs, kids’ activities, water gun battles, treasure hunts and storytelling.

In addition to water fun, get up-close with gators and turtles at Alligator Attraction. To escape the heat, head into Beach Fun and Games, a local arcade.

Where to Eat

Several restaurants in John’s Pass Village are located on the water, so diners can enjoy the view and seafood. For something different, the area also houses pizza spots, coffee shops, bars and pubs, and Asian-inspired cuisine. Top spots include: Friendly Fisherman, Sculley’s and Mad Beach Craft Brewing Company.

After lunch or dinner, satisfy that sweet tooth at an area ice cream or candy shop. Kilwin’s offers rich fudge, Meyer’s has ice cream, and try taffy at Zeno’s.

If visiting in late October, don’t miss the John’s Pass Seafood Festival. This event ranks as one of the largest seafood festivals on the East Coast and features three days of food and entertainment. Eat lots of seafood, learn about local anglers and see live bands.

Shopping for Goodies

With dozens of stores located throughout The Pass, visitors can shop for apparel, jewelry, art, collectibles and souvenirs. For beachwear and trendy fashion, browse Cool Style, John’s Pass Trading Company, Tarpon Bay Trading Company, and Wild Time.

Looking for something specific? Search over 18 specialty stores selling gifts and treats. The village has a pet boutique, tea shop, jewelry stores, winery and home goods.
